In True Lower East Side Style.

Monika perched on curb on the streets of the lower east side,
while we queued up to see the premiere of "Captured", a film
by Clayton Patterson. Clayton, who is actually Canadian =),
spent the last 30 years religiously documenting the people and
the vibrant culture of his neighbourhood, the lower east side.
It was amazing, seeing how the LES has changed over the years,
from drug-ridden and dangerous, to the trendy scene that it is
today. It was truly amazing and communal experience.

The Bells are Ringing.

After the film, we wanted to show Janet and Shane the "new" lower
east side,so Minh took us to her new favourite spot, The Ten Bells.
Jojo, our new friend, fresh of the fresh boat, took care of us with
lovely wine and tapas style snacks.

José in da House!

As part of LES whirlwind tour, we dropped by José Parlá's birthday
party, which was at this cute little Italian resto on Stanton.

Onto The Annex Level.

Our final stop was at Annex amongst the true hipster kids of the LES.
Dave was on the decks, and I think all my intern were there. After feeling
officially old, we decided to call it quits around 3am.

P-Didddilicious

Ariella and I hard at work on Friday afternoon....Ciroc,
a potential advertiser came to the office for us to sample
their vodka! They brought sushi and sandwiches too!

Deep Dining.

Janet was visiting from SF, so I wanted to take her somewhere quaint and
delicious. Prune, in the east village was just the place. The space was small
and quaint and the kitchen wide open. People were friendly and the food
and wine was amazing! We shared a great fresh anchovy appertizer and
a whole fish as our main! We drank wonderful white white from Piemonte.
And finished off our feast with a sweet omelette, flamed with Calvados...
so of course we had a glass of Calvados to go along with it!

A Very Social Sunday.

Monika and I went for a lovely brunch with Willhelm and Ran
at Stanton Social in the lower east side. The food was amazing,
with mini tacos and lobster eggs benedict.

Straight outta da Mission. (not)

Monika, Matt and I finally caved after missing SF burritos so much,
and tried Benny's in the neighbourhood. No wonder they get so
much heat, they call themselves "San Francisco MIssion Style", that's
just wrong! Their tacos were decent, and frozen margaritas cheap
and very good, but can't say the same for their burritos.
The search continues...

Make Way for the WBB!

Nylon said goodbye to our beloved Winona at Sweet & Vicious.
The frozen margaritas were ice cold and strong, so it was fun all
around. We even snuck in corn from Habana to feed the troops.

Oh, Habana!

Mihn (my fellow canadienne) enjoyed her first even corn on the cob
at Café Habana... well, it was Habana to go, so almost the same
thing... YUM!

Rockin' Diary.

At the Hedi Slimane Rock Diary Party. Belvedere was free, drinks
were huge, so of course we all had a great time.

Chinatown Delight.

Wo Hop is perfect for a late night snack. We soaked up overly
intoxicated bodies with crispy noodles and fried rice. YUM!

Too Cool for School.

Yuji cruising around town on his bmx and his amazing 70's surfer outfit!

Meat Madness!

We went to check out the BBQ Festival at Madison Square Gardens.
They had BBQ meat from all different states and done in all different
styles! ..but sadly lineups were too long to even try =( so we got burgers
at Shake Shack instead! as usual, SOOOO damn good....
